Biography Highlights:
Dr. Hallarman is an internal medicine and palliative care physician with three decades of experience caring for individuals living with serious chronic illnesses and their families. She graduated from Yale Medical School and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester.
From 2007 to 2019, she served as the founding director of palliative care services at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
In 2017-18, Dr. Hallarman was as a Health and Aging Policy Fellow. During her fellowship, she worked as a health investigator for the Senate Committee on Finance, contributing to a congressional report on the tragic deaths of nursing home residents following Hurricanes Irma and Harvey.
Since 2018, she has served as a palliative care policy and educational consultant for the National Center for Equitable Care for Elders at Harvard University.
She is completing a Master of Arts in Journalism at New York University in May of 2025.
